Las Bugambilias Vol.1

The story of Las Bugambilias is one of syncratic exploration informed by my lived experience in México. Once the artist leaves their native land and sets sail, an inevitable exchange begins to form: A negotiation between their native language, poetics and expression with those of their host culture. Through five years of writing, recording, collaborating and performing in Mexico, an organic exchange began to emerge, one that brought the poetics of Iranian classical and folk music into conversation with the Latin American poetic sensibilities and the Spanish language. Las Bugambilias is a container within which I delve into this collaborative exploration, trusting that the work will reveal itself.
