Conflict Room
Installation, 2011
Conflict Room is an interactive installation piece that explores the impact of media bias on public opinion, especially nations in conflict, and more specifically, Iran and the U.S. For this installation, I wrote a piece of software that listened to the RSS feed from American and Iranian conservative media, and splashed black ink on video projections of NYC and Tehran upon publishing of hostile opinion pieces. A hashtag was made available to the audience to which they could tweet, in the event of which, a water pump would clear the ink-splattered screen.
