Disco Tehran

Digital Platform, 2020 - Ongoing

In 2018, along with my friend and collaborator Arya Ghavamian, we co-founded Disco Tehran. Disco Tehran is a multi-cultural dance party and live performance project. A dreamboat that connects NY to the era of 1970s cosmopolitan venues in Tehran. This is our platform to bring music from the people of the Asian continent, Latin America, Africa, and Europe. In 2019, we were featured in The New York Times and Vice Noisy among others. We have taken the party on the road across North America an Europe, have collaborated with many local and international artists and DJ’s, performed at Boiler Room TV, collaborated with MoMA PS1, and raised money to provide food for the people of NYC impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020 and in the wake of the pandemic, I developed and launched our own live streaming platform complete with audience chat and reactions as well as an admin streaming dashboard to coordinate seamless stream switching for uninterrupted viewing experience. Using this platform, we brought live music programming to our international audience.
