Sound Island

Interactive Visualization, 2021

Sound Island is a 1994 cospatial large-scale audio installation by pioneering sound artist Bill Fontana located in Paris. This installation sources live sound bites from multiple locations in Normandy and Paris, and broadcasts them on three different levels on and under the Arc de Triompth monument.

This visualization accompanied Dr. Azadeh Nilchiani’s PhD dissertation titled “Sound installations in urban spaces” at Gustave Eiffel Univeristy, Paris.
